In case of emergency, dial 999 or 112, then ask for ‘Police’ then ‘Mountain Rescue’.

The evenings training started out as a 7kM NavEx around the area of Gutter Tor practicing various navigation techniques between pre-determined features/check points.

Upon completion of the NavEx a casualty scenario unfolded where a cross country cyclist had dismounted from his bike whilst training for the Tor de Moor. The scenario was not known to the attendees and was to test reaction when they thought the evening had concluded.

Injuries sustained included a broken femur and lower arm. Treatment included Sam, Pelvic and Kendrick splints being applied, pain relief administered and road evacuation via Bell Stretcher in the back of Dart 54.
