Bonfire night made for an extra touch to last night’s training. Due to the rendezvous being at Clearbrook we were able to see all of the surrounding fireworks displays. The rain managed to also hold off for most of the evening which made for a pleasant change.
Our Communications officer had arranged a visit from representatives from the companies Dalesman and Garmin. The team was split into small groups and each group was able to play with the GPS and tracking kit whilst going for a bimble around the area. The teams also performed a line search to see how it was tracked on the devices. Both sets had impressive functionality and it was very useful to be able to use the kit out in the field.
The evening gave the team a chance to see what is available, and an idea if it would be worth investing in the technology in the future to aid with training and callouts. Thank you to both reps for their time and effort for the evening.
