It’s one again that time of year, where Santa fills his sack with treats for the children of Plymouth and along with the Plympton section of the Rotary club and several members of the team, the evening was spent collecting kind donations from local residents.
We were split into two teams and each team covered one side of the road. Due to time constraints we could only cover a small section of Plympton but with the aid of an online tracker the children were able to follow Santa on his route. Many of the houses looked very festive and there were some fantastic Christmas displays.
The Rotary club supports a wide range of causes and local charities and is made up of volunteers. The Plympton branch has been serving the community since 1954 and runs many events throughout the year.
We must say a huge thank you to everyone who answered their door and gave a donation, it is greatly appreciated. A portion of what was collected will go directly to the team for vital equipment needed in the New Year.
