🎄 The holidays have now started and if you think you will be enjoying walks across our countryside to walk off that extra mince pie 🥧 , remember to tell someone where you are going, 🥾 make sure you are aware of what daylight hours you have left (daylight fades around 3.30 pm – 4.00 pm), take a torch 🔦, map and compass, make sure your phone is fully charged and wear appropriate clothing. 📱

Our volunteers are 24/7 on-call even during Christmas and New Year remain ready at moments to notice to leave families & excited children going to the aid of strangers. We could not do this with the support of the same families & children that is why we would say big “Thank You” to all of them.

During the year we work with a lot of emergency services partners like our sister’s teams on Dartmoor Ashburton, Tavistock and Okehampton also the teams from East and West Cornwall and of course Exmoor and the collages/friends of Devon & Cornwall 4×4 Response, South Western Ambulance Service Trust, HART team from South Western Ambulance Service Trust, Devon & Cornwall Police, Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service, Urban Search Team from Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service, Plymouth Coast Guard, Coast Guard Helicopter, Devon Air Ambulance and National Police Helicopter Team South West we would like to wishes them all a Merry #SafeChristmas and Great start of the New Year.

We also would like to say a big thank you to our supporting partners for the support they give us during the year, we would like to say a special thank you to Security Management South West Ltd for donating our Technical Rescue unit DART74 to the team and Colebrook Transporters for becoming our maintains partner for both our vans DART04 and DART74 this is big help to the team. See all our “Supporting Partners” here.

If you go out on the Dartmoor or the countryside have read true our “Keep Safe” page and always check weather on the Met Office website before you go out and make sure that somebody knows where you go and when you due to be back.

Thank you to all our team members, long-suffering families, supporters and everyone else that has helped the team this year. We hope you all have a great Christmas and enjoy the festive season!

Stay safe and enjoy!
