The principle function of this weeks Tuesday training was a radio exercise to establish communications along the river and pipe tracks at Cadover Bridge. Phil split the attendees into three groups. Two-foot teams and one water team. Each group was given a route to follow and were briefed to stop every 250 meters and contact control using 4 different radio channels.
The team has had a couple of recent call-outs in the area and the exercise helped highlight the black spots, and which channels are best to communicate with control. The data collected from each of the groups will be analysed and the results will be invaluable in improving our communications during future call-outs.
Thank you to Phil for organising an extremely useful and interesting exercise.
