In case of emergency, dial 999 or 112, then ask for ‘Police’ then ‘Mountain Rescue’.

The White Thorn is a popular end of Tuesday training pub based at Shaugh Prior. This August Bank Holiday we were very privileged to have the pub raise a significant amount of money for the team by hosting a Tractor run and raffle.

Twenty or so tractors of all different shapes and sizes met at the pub and set off together for a bumpy jaunt across the moor. Colin will be able to name all of the different models if anyone is interested. After the ride, the entrants feasted on burgers, washed down with a few pints.

A raffle was then conducted with some fabulous prizes donated from local companies, sadly I didn’t win the gin.., but a couple of members of the team won some lovely prizes.

All of the proceeds from the event was kindly donated to us and the day raised a staggering total of £956.

Thank you so much to the White Thorn for their generosity and a special thank you goes to our very own newly appointed Call out Assistant George and his wife Laura for their tremendous efforts in making the day a huge success.

We remain operational at this difficult, responding to assist Devon & Cornwall Police in searching for vulnerable missing people.

Any support you are able to offer is even more important to us at this time, ensuring we are able to keep operational and available to our community.

It is very easy to support the team by donation, using Amazon Smile or to choose us as your local cause at CO-OP you can also buy tickets from SeaMoor Lotto where you have every week chances to win up to 25.000 pounds. For more information how you can help using one of the banners on the right or look at How Can You Help Us.
