With Christmas just being right around the corner, this meant it was time for the team to help out with the Plympton Rotary Club Santa rounds. Thankfully the lockdown restrictions were lifted in time, so we were able to participate, although some changes had to be implemented to keep everyone safe.
Several members of the team and three members from the Supporters group met early evening and were all wrapped up warmly for the festivities. This year we were unable to knock on doors and accept cash donations, so had to deliver leaflets which advised the residents how they can donate to support local charities. Santa also had to stay on the sleigh and wave at the children from afar. Fortunately, it was a lovely dry wintry evening, and with festive tunes blaring out, the pandemic was unable to dampen the Christmas spirit for the volunteers.
We want to thank the Plympton Rotary Club for the invite to help this year, and hopefully, we were able to help generate some much-needed income for local charities that have had a tough 2020. Thank you also to the Support group and team members for giving up their evening.
