🎄 The holidays have now started and if you think you will be enjoying walks across our countryside to walk off that extra mince pie 🥧 , remember to tell someone where you are going, 🥾 make sure you are aware of what daylight hours you have left (daylight fades around 3.30 pm – 4.00 pm), take a torch 🔦, map 🗺️ and compass 🧭, make sure your phone 📱 is fully charged and wear appropriate clothing.
Our volunteers are 24/7 on-call even during Christmas🎄 and New Year 🥂remain ready at moments to notice to leave families & excited children going to the aid of strangers.
We could not do this with the support of the same families & children that is why we would say big “Thank You”🙏 to all of them.
2020 is been a very strange and difficult year for everyone with COVID🦠 changing the way we were used to doing things.
As a team we change the way we do our training, do the training in smaller bubbles so the risk is lower for everyone and during the lockdown, we have stopped the training outdoors and went to online training using Microsoft Teams.
- Fundraising has been challenging this year, with some combined efforts from some members and supporters of the team we where still able to do some kind of fundraising. HOPE24 put up a Hope 24 Virtual,
- The White Thorn put up a Tractor Run,
- Mark Holt & Co shared their Christmas party budget with us and other charity’s donateyourchristmaspartybudget,
- Plympton Rotary Club put up Santa rounds,
- Donations from members of the public,
- Presents from our Amazon Wishlist
