Training this week was the annual MOD 1 Water awareness for the whole team at Trowlesworthy. Everyone was split into groups and did a round-robin style, spending around 25 minutes at each station.
The first area covered water safety and talking about the dangers of water. The next one involved chucking throw bags at each other or Howard. The last station discussed river crossings and explained the different methods on how to cross a river safely using wading poles and each other.
Once again it was good to be out training all together and refreshing some of the vital skills that the team use.
MOD 1 Water Awareness training is designed to provide personnel working near the water with sufficient knowledge to be aware of the hazards created by this environment and develop an understanding of water rescue techniques.
