Within the team, there are various specialist areas where team members can broaden their skill sets. The water team is one of these facets. Members can train to become a MOD 2 initially and then go on to the MOD 3 SRT level. The Water team trains every couple of months on a Saturday at various locations.
This Saturday, the team got a chance to familiarise themselves with some new kit at the Rescue Centre and then practice rope techniques and the tethering of a boat. We are very fortunate to have several boats that can be used for water rescues, especially in the flooding of urban areas.
