In case of emergency, dial 999 or 112, then ask for ‘Police’ then ‘Mountain Rescue’.

Our Training Officer Darren had organised a bit of a competitive evening for this week’s Tuesday training in the form of a stretcher exercise (or race)

Everyone was split into two teams, and each had to assemble their stretcher and place a bucket of water on top. The team then had to navigate a course making sure they did not spill any water on route. The first half of the course was to get to Foggintor Quarry from four winds car park and back. Then for the second leg, the stretcher had to be placed on the wheel and carefully taken up the track on route to Great Mis Tor and back again.

As things are starting to return to normal, it meant a rather wet and foggy night on the moor, but it was also the first time that the team could socialise afterwards in groups of 6 inside the Prince of Wales, which was well deserved.

Thanks to Darren for organising a great evening with prizes for the winning team.
