Tuesday evening, the MOD3 (SRT) of the water section from our team were out training in Millbay Marina. Normally this is the domain on the HM Coastguard.
To train our boat drills on the raft, mega sledge & evacuation sledge, we needed the open water that Millbay Marina could offer use.
After buddy checks and going over the health and safety protocol, it was time to take the raft and mega sledge out for a run-around. After a good warmup, we train in turn the raft and mega sledge back right after turning over.
We finish off the evening with casualty transport over the water using an evacuation sledge. The evacuation sledge is a special design to get the casualty out of their house to fit through the front door or window.
Even that Julian H-B was hit by the mega sledge when turning it around, we did need to call out the Plymouth Lifeboat 😉 even when we were training around their boats.
We want to thank Howard and Dave N. for the perfect training and Julian H-B for arranging access to Millbay Marina.
