“One of the areas of a Rescue Team set up is Search Management. Our Team currently have 3 and have been working hard to bring more into the fold.
North Dartmoor Search and Rescue team hosted a Search Management and Planning course for the region, over a 3-day period of which I and two others attended from our team. It was run by two very experienced trainers from North Wales and was a great insight into the role. The schedule for each day was a combination of PowerPoint presentations and real-life case studies, where we worked in teams to simulate a real-life search.
It was a precious and interesting weekend, and due to the excellent teaching staff, everyone passed the course and are all now qualified Search Managers. I want to say a massive thank you to Al and Hugh for travelling the long way down to Okehampton and North Dartmoor for their hospitality. “
