Saturday’s plan was to have a team game of rounder’s followed by a picnic on Yelverton Airfield. You would think that August being classed as s summer month would mean sunshine, but alas, this was not the case. Whilst the monsoonal showers were happening, several members went to the Rescue centre armed with a plethora of sweet treats and had a very interesting discussion with the new SEO for Mountain Rescue Mike Park. Mike and his wife are currently doing a tour of the Mountain Rescue teams throughout England and Wales. Several hours were spent discussing Mountain Rescue as a whole and how our team operates. After several cups of tea and slices of homemade cake, Mike and his lovely wife had to depart and move on to the next area. It was a very informative and motivating afternoon for those in attendance.
