25 Dec 11: Search Manager called at 0830 by the Police to search in the Bere Alston area for a missing 76 year old woman known to have dementia. Stood down before the team was called as she was found by a police patrol and returned to her house.
14 Dec 11: Search Manager called out at 2300 for an 86 year old male with dementia in Galmpton near Hope Cove. Assisted Ashburton from midnight, but stood down at 0500 pending police enquiries. Tavistock continued later that day and his body was found and recovered.
17 and 18 Nov 11: Called out to Ernesettle in the morning of both days to look for a missing 59 year old man. Despite two days of searching he has still not been found (update: a body has since been discovered near Ivybridge).
6 Nov 11: Jointly called out with Tavistock team to Norsworthy Bridge at 0800 to search for a suicidal 39 year old man. He was found not long after the team were deployed
1 Sep 11: Called out at 1820 to Kit Hill for a missing 82 year old woman. Joint with Tavistock and Cornwall. The team was turned round before we got to the location. The police located the subject as she walked into a premises in Milton Abbott where she had lived some years previously.
11 Aug 11: Rob Illman from Ashburton team asked the us to bring the team to a location near Dartmouth to look for a 39 year old male suicidal despondent. He was found by H.M. Coastguard while the team were en route.
25 Jul 11: Team called out to Harford Moor Gate to search for a spritely gentleman overdue at the car park. He arrived at Harford having taken a taxi from Sheeps Tor Village
12 Jul 11: Team called to Dartmouth to search for a 39 year old male. We understand he was found near to the RV by a coastguard team whilst we were en route. Taken to Torbay hospital where, when we talked to the police later in the day, he was safe and well
2 Mar 11: Alan and Search Dog Sunny had a call out to carry out a back up search, following on from the coast guard, looking for a missing man whose car was found abandoned on the cliff top at Bedruthan Steps. As the tide was in the search was confined to the cliff top as even Sunny can’t search vertically. Max, Alex Lyons dog, indicated south of Alan’s area, above some caves and a body was found on the beach below the next day, by the CG and when the tide was out.
15 Jan 11: Called out to Boringdon Hall at 0915 to look for a missing person. Person found very soon after, team stood down at 1015.
