In case of emergency, dial 999 or 112, then ask for ‘Police’ then ‘Mountain Rescue’.

How We Help You

HASTY TEAM

Normal search teams are made up of between 4 and 8 members who would search an area by foot. The Hasty Team, as its name suggests, can cover greater distances due to their speed and lightweight equipment by searching whilst running.

They are deployed along tracks and other line features which may have been used by the missing person. Due to their speed over the ground they can cover large areas quickly and effectively reporting back to Control any findings.

To be chosen to be a member of the Hasty Team members should have been a member for at least a year, be fit and be able to treat any casualties they find with the equipment that they carry and be prepared to carry on searching after any casualties have been found and treated.

The vast majority of Hasty Team members compete in various off road events like cross country races, mountain marathons and orienteering events. These types of activities lend themselves perfectly for Hasty Team membership. Most are MREW Casualty Care trained (a higher level of First Aid allowing us to carry a limited supply of drugs) and some are also Swift Water Rescue Technicians (Level 3).
