How You Can Help Us

Partners & Supporters

HOPE 24

Our principal financial supporter and team partner for the foreseeable future is the fabulous local Hope24 event. The principal event is an annual 24 hour endurance challenge, open to individuals or teams seeking to run as far as possible in 24 hours around a 5 mile course in the countryside outside Plympton. The increasingly popular event now attracts almost 1,000 participants from all over the country. In addition to this epic challenge, there is also family options of 2.4 miles or 2.4km, as well as a slightly less arduous 5 mile 1 / lap option.

Many challengers choose to raise money for charity, DSRTP are one of the chosen charities to benefit from 50% of all charity money raised, sharing the total with the wonderful “Hope for Children” charity.

DSRTP personnel will be on hand during the event, taking place in May every year, to offer support with marshaling on the course and car park, and to have team personnel available to assist should there be a serious issue relating to first aid requirement.

More detail on Hope24 can be found at their website hope24.team-hope.co.uk

We also benefit from our patron being a staff member of Plymouth University, Professor Iain Stewart!
  • DSRTP utilising campus facilities for their training activities, open to University staff and students
  • Securing student and staff volunteering opportunities across the range of DSRTP activities, with particular value for medical and event management students
  • Exploring collaborative and research opportunities in areas such as psychology and Alzheimer’s through to geography and sustainability
  • Inspiring young people and the wider public through collaborative school and community engagement activities
  • Collaborative promotion and fundraising activities including raising awareness of this valuable partnership and the opportunities it represents
