In case of emergency, dial 999 or 112, then ask for ‘Police’ then ‘Mountain Rescue’.

Our team was “Highly Commended” in the category Police and Crime Commissioner’s Team Award.

9 of our members attended Devon and Cornwall Police Volunteer Awards to receive the Highly Commended from Police and Crime Commissioner Alison Hernandez

The Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team Plymouth regularly comes to the aid of people who have become lost while on the moor, might be mentally unwell or have had an accident. In addition, they help many community events such as Ten Tors and sporting events to go ahead, carrying out a wide range of tasks Fram patching up a runner who has broken and ankle to full scale search and rescue in challenging weather conditions.

Volunteers are well trained, experienced and professional. They suppler events that are of benefit to a wide range of people, from enabling 2,000 young people to take part in Ten Tors challenge to supporting athletic events such as the Mad March Hara 10km and charity fundraisers like Dartmoor Prison Break.

During last year’s ‘Beast from the East’ and this year’s snow, members took to the moors to conduct patrols to help keep the public safe. Every year the team, which provides SAR services throughout South West Devon, East Cornwall and Dartmoor, prides the police with well in excess of 1,000 hours of search resources.

We like to thank the Police and Crime Commissioner Alison Hernandez and Devon and Cornwall Police for the recognition of our volunteer work we as team do for the community.
