In case of emergency, dial 999 or 112, then ask for ‘Police’ then ‘Mountain Rescue’.

In the aftermath of Storm Dennis, the current troop of trainees had organised last night’s training at Cadover Bridge. The scenario involved the fallout from an illegal rave. Due to the water element in the area, our Water team kitted up and waited for instructions.

Team Leaders were briefed to search for five missing people. Two water teams and two-foot teams were given areas to search and then deployed.

As the evening progressed the weather took a rather steep decline with heavy rain and thunderstorms battering the teams.

After the missing casualties were located and extracted back to the rendezvous, the team sought sanction at the local pub and were kindly greeted with the welcome sight of several bowls of chips.

Thank you to our trainees for organising the night, and a special thanks go out to the team at the White Thorn for their hospitality. It is greatly appreciated.
