Sunday saw the team responding to a call to support one of our fellow PenMaCRA teams West Cornwall Search and Rescue Team. This was to help assist in the search for a missing person. The team was drafted in as a fresh pair of eyes to cover the local parkland and water area of Camborne.

Eighteen members of the team making up two water teams and a foot team convoyed down to the RV which was the local fire service headquarters.

It was a very hot and humid day as the teams were briefed on the incident and what areas to search. Once this has been completed the foot teams from Cornwall and Plymouth were deployed. Whilst the water teams got their equipment sorted and then were ready to go.

The terrain to be searched was heavy going and full of brambles, nettles and old machinery. After several hours of arduous searching, the missing person was located by the water team.

We would like to send our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the missing person. We would also like to thank the Cornwall team for asking us to assist and we were very grateful to be able to help contribute in giving closure to the family.

Thank you to all of our team for their great efforts under the difficult circumstances.
