Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team Plymouth were called yesterday to assist Devon and Cornwall Police in the search for a missing person.
Twenty Seven members of the team assembled near Hardwick wood in Plympton to await tasking. Three foot teams and one dog team were allocated their search areas and deployed to commence searching.
At 20:30 the decision was made by to cease the search due to the lack of daylight and tough terrain, and to re-start the following day.
Unfortunately in the early hours of this morning a body has been located. All of the Team would like to pass on their deepest condolences to the family and friends at this difficult time.
