The team organises managed walking challenges on Dartmoor, allowing the public to form teams and take part in a challenge with other like-minded people. Scheduled walks include the Postbridge Challenge in February, Dartmoor Prison Break in June and Midnight Madness in July. Teams raise funds through sponsorship, which is crucial to the team's annual budget and core functions. The team ensures the safety of all participants during the challenges.

Dartmoor Walks & Ultras
In collaboration with Plymouth University, DSRTP also realized Ken Ringwood's lifelong dream by publishing “Moor to Sea without the Car: Walks from Plymouth using Public Transport.”
This book offers 11 scenic walks around the city, complete with maps and travel instructions, showcasing beautiful locations like Mount Edgcumbe, Cawsand, Calstock, Plym Valley, Princetown, Looe, and Ivybridge. Plymouth University students from various disciplines contributed to its creation, allowing walkers to explore the landscapes of Devon and Cornwall without the need for a car.
Dartmoor Walking Books
Former Geography teacher and valued DSRTP team member Ken Ringwood authored 'Dartmoor’s Tors and Rocks,' a comprehensive pictorial guide covering 364 out of 365 Tors within Dartmoor National Park, with one exception for privacy reasons. This labor of love, supported by Plymouth University, took Ken five years and countless miles of walking to complete. Each Tor is accompanied by a description, photograph, and Grid Reference, making them easy to locate for every day of the year.
